Competition season is on for 2011, and I’ve started the year as state champion! The NSW Brazilian Jiu Jitsu No Gi Championship was held on 16 April at the Sydney University Sports and Aquatic Centre. 300 athletes braved the rain to spend the day competing for gold. Read the full story

With a total of 177 medals, Australia dominated the Commonwealth Games for the sixth time in a row. Celebrations for some impressive performances by Australia’s elite female athletes are well deserved. It is clear however that preparation for tougher competition at the London Olympics (2012) are expected – a challenge gladly welcomed by Australia’s top athletes.
